WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE IN THE BATTLEFIELD?

If you are a startup looking to: getting coverage, entering in the ecosystem of an industry leader like VWFS, and needing some cash – Startup Battlefield is the place to be.

The Startup Battlefield will give a spotlight to participants, by putting them on a stage in front of Volkswagen Financial Services and Volkswagen Group executives, investors, entrepreneurs, tech moguls and press. Participants will have the unique opportunity to make connections with talented people and industry experts.

During the event, participants will pitch on-stage to persuade a panel of judges, including VWFS executives and the UK entrepreneurs, in front of an audience of guests, from the likes of the tech community, the VC ecosystem and press.

WHAT HAPPENS TO STARTUPS AFTER THEY HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE BATTLEFIELD?

We will provide alumni with opportunities for meetups, and help them take their value proposition to the next level. If you are one of the winners, you will have access to our prizes and the possibility to engage with Volkswagen Financial Services group. 

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BATTLEFIELD?

In preparation for the contest day, participants will be required to participate in a Skype call. These sessions ensure that companies are prepared to communicate effectively their product and vision to target the audience interest.

IS THERE AN INTERVIEW ROUND?

Not really. We occasionally interview startups in case we would need more information or would like to see a live demo. However, you do not have to go through an interview to be selected for the Battlefield. So basically, don’t worry about it.

WHEN WILL THE FINALISTS BE NOTIFIED?

Submissions will be closed on the September 23rd. It will take us around 48 hours to select and notify our participants. All companies will be notified regardless if they are chosen. If you have not received an email by the 26th of September, reach out to applications@vwfs-battlefield.com
